My Dad, Ulys Nickle, died in 2009. He would have been 90 today. In his younger years, he was an artist - a painter and draftsman. The astronaut’s chair drawing and the engine drawing were done for Boeing Aerospace in the 1960s, probably for the Mercury or Gemini space missions. The Stuart Davis inspired Kansas City street scene painting and this lovely still life painting were both done in done in the early 1950s.
I think about him every day.
